Merungle Alpacas at Events

We love getting out and about to meet people who share our passion for alpacas. Throughout the year you'll find us at agricultural shows, regional field days, and district shearing days across Gippsland — bringing along some of our best animals and plenty of enthusiasm for the breed.
Whether you're an experienced alpaca breeder, thinking about adding alpacas to your property, or just curious about these remarkable animals, we'd love to have a chat.

Agricultural Shows

Agricultural shows are a cornerstone of rural community life, and Merungle Alpacas has been a proud exhibitor at shows across the Gippsland region for many years. We regularly enter animals in alpaca classes, where they're judged against breed standards for conformation, fleece quality, and temperament.
Shows are a great place to see quality alpacas up close, watch judging in action, and talk directly with breeders. We're always happy to answer questions — from the basics of alpaca ownership right through to selecting stud stock.
We have exhibited at events including the Maffra Agricultural Show and other local shows throughout the season.

Field Days

Regional field days give us the opportunity to connect with the broader farming community and introduce alpacas to people who may not have considered the breed before. Alpacas are increasingly popular with lifestyle block owners, small-scale farmers, and those looking for a low-maintenance yet rewarding animal to add to their property.

You'll find us at major Gippsland field days including Farm World at Lardner Park and the East Gippsland Field Days, where we bring animals along and are on hand to talk husbandry, fibre, and stud options.

On Farm Events

From time to time we host and participate in district shearing days and other on-farm gatherings with local alpaca breeders. These are relaxed, community-focused events — a chance to share knowledge, work alongside other producers, and enjoy a good day on the land.

If you're interested in attending an on-farm event or finding out what's coming up, get in touch directly.
